It was rescued from an old villa once owned by Palmerston North Hospital\u2014saved just before the property was sold to a developer and demolished.<\/p>\n<p>Crafted by <strong>Sovereign Woodworkers Ltd<\/strong> in Whanganui sometime in the <strong>1960s or 1970s<\/strong>, the tray still carries its <strong>original maker\u2019s labels<\/strong> on the underside. It\u2019s made from a selection of native New Zealand timbers\u2014<strong>Matai, Kahikatea, Rewarewa, Totara, Pukatea, and Rimu<\/strong>, with <strong>Matai<\/strong> forming the centre panel.
